The Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) is a regional conference of countries in the Asia and Pacific region that aims to monitor the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action and address regional population and reproductive health issues. Thus, it serves as a platform for policymakers, program managers and service providers in the region to exchange experiences and discuss strategies on population and reproductive health.
The conference is held every two years, sponsored by population and reproductive health agencies in the region. The previous conferences were held in Manila (2001), Bangkok (2003), Kuala Lumpur (2005) and Hyderabad (2007).
The 5th APCRSHR will be held in Beijing, China on October 18-20, 2009. Its theme is “Working for Universal Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights: Building on the ICPD PoA and MDGs.” It has the following tracks for the symposia and parallel sessions:
Sexual reproductive health and rightsAside from the symposia and parallel sessions, the conference will also include plenary sessions, satellite sessions and capacity building workshops.
