The Leadership Development for Mobilizing Reproductive Health (IIE-LDM) and Family Planning Organization of the Philippines are calling for applications to participate in a Youth Leadership Training for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). This three (3) day training will bring together approximately 15-25 Filipino youth activists, advocates and leaders from the different organizations that promote and implement programs on SRHR in the Philippines. Participants will gain knowledge and skills that will allow them to effectively lead their respective organizations in the promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
ABOUT the sponsoring organizations:
The Leadership Development for Mobilizing Reproductive Health (LDM) program supports leadership development opportunities for reproductive health leaders who live and work in the poorest regions of Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan and the Philippines.
The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) is a nationwide organization of professional and community-based volunteers that provide sexual and reproductive health services. FPOP informs and educates communities especially the poor, marginalized, socially excluded and underserved about SRHR. FPOP has chapters and clinics in 25 provinces across the country.
The application form for the training is attached. FPOP is keen to receive applications from young people who:
· Fall between the ages 15 – 24
· Reside in the Philippines (preferably in Luzon)
· Have basic knowledge in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights or another related field (i.e. gender equity, HIV/AIDS, youth participation, trafficking of young women, sexual orientation and gender identity, etc.).
· Are affiliated with an organization/Have some experience in working in the area of sexual and reproductive right or another related field (i.e. youth sexual health clinic, studies in related field, political work on youth issues etc.).
· Are already performing some leadership roles and functions in their respective organizations
· Commit to implement re-entry plans, follow-up, monitor and evaluate the said plans
